On this day in Expanded Universe history, May 15, 1957, author Dave Wolverton was born. The author of one of my favorite novels, The Courtship of Princess Leia, and one of my favorite Short stories Payback: The Tale of Dengar for the Tales of the Bounty Hunters (1996). Dave Wolverton has written other short stories for the Star Wars Anthologies; The Sand Tender: The Hammerhead's Tale for Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina (1995), and A Free Quarren in the Palace: Tessek's Tale for Tales from Jabba's Palace (1995). Mr. Wolverton has also contributed to the Jedi Apprentice young reader series, writing book one The Rising Force and co-writing book three The Hidden Past with Jude Watson. He also wrote four of the Episode I Adventures which include Episode I Adventures 5: The Ghostling Children, Episode I Adventures 6: The Hunt for Anakin Skywalker, Episode I Adventures 7: Capture Arawynne and Episode I Adventures 8: Trouble on Tatooine, and also wrote eight books of the Star Wars Missions series.
Beyond his contributions to expanding the Star Wars universe, Dave Wolverton has won several awards for his works and is the author of the The Runelords series under his pen name, Dave Farland. Please join us in wishing Dave Wolverton a very Happy Birthday.
