Santa's appearances in the EU

Did you know that Santa Claus makes appearances in the Expanded Universe? A recent thread on Twitter about Santa had one popular Star Wars YouTuber joking that, "I prefer the Santa Legends continuity better," a pot shot a EU fans he believes make too noise online about their love of the original canon, the Expanded Universe.

Well, the joke's on him: Santa Claus does indeed have Legends-era appearances. Most, admittedly, are of ambiguous canonicity within the Expanded Universe. But let's take a quick look at what they are below, from Wookieepedia:

"In the Star Wars: X-Wing computer game, when the date is set to December 25 in the Collector's CD-ROM version, Santa Claus appears on the Independence concourse menu.

In LEGO Star Wars II, entering the codes "CL4U5H" and "TYH319" at the Mos Eisley Cantina activates Disguise 3 in the Extras menu, and a Santa-like character can be built using the character customizer. This character is identified as Santa Claus in a StarWars.com news item.

In 2006, a limited-edition figurine was issued of Yoda dressed in a Santa suit with a sack of toys.

Claus' son, "S. Claus," appears at the end of the album Christmas in the Stars.

A Lego set with the title "7958 Star Wars Advent Calendar" had Santa Claus dressed up as Yoda."
