Galaxy Tour: Outer Rim: Stenson Sector

By Jason Dietzel

Caaraz System (H-17)

· Star/Sun: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Caaraz

Located in the coreward reaches of the sector, the planet Caaraz is a tide-locked world. On the perpetual night side was an artic wasteland of glaciers, while the eternally day side was an inhospitable lava-scape of scorched earth. The only light provided to the icy half of the planet came from the planet’s twin moon orbits.

However, between these two hellish halves was a habitable ring that housed the Rantz species. The system remained in isolation for countless millennia, until the Galactic Empire discovered the world while searching for secret Rebel bases. The Imperials transformed the planet into a mining colony, presumably through the rest of the Galactic Civil War.

Elatha System (I-17)

· Star/Sun: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Elatha

Little is known about Elatha. Sometime between 500 and 340 BBY, the Jedi training vessel Chu’unthor discovered the planet and the Elathan species. The discovery garnered media coverage, but it is unknown if the Galactic Republic sent any teams to further any diplomatic contacts.

Ghothia System (I-16)

· Star/Sun: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Unknown

It is unknown if the Ghothia system and Stensen’s Colony system are the same system, as both have been referenced as the location of the Ghothian slime pools.

Stensen’s Colony System (I-16)

· Star/Sun: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Stensen’s Colony

It is unkown if the Stensen’s Colony system is the same as the Ghothia, as both have been referenced having Ghothian slime pools.

Magar’s World System (H-17)

· Star/Sun: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Magar’s World

Magar’s World is a backwater planet controlled by the despot Magar. He used the planet to promote illegal gladiatorial games between slaves and exotic creatures of the planet

Sareet System (I-17)

· Star/Sun: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Sareet

Another remote system, the planet Sareet was the birthplace of the Sareeta species. The Sareeta achieved space travel in the last millennia of the Galactic Republic, and their leadership encouraged their young to traverse the galaxy and bring what they have learned back to Sareet to benefit their people. Most adhered to this calling, but some became smugglers and other questionable occupations. By the time of the Sith-Imperial War, Sareet fell under the jurisdiction of Darth Krayt’s Sith Empire.

Trenwyth System (I-16)

· Star/Sun: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Trenwyth

Uninhabited until about 4 ABY, the planet was base to both the Nagai and the Tof during their destructive conflict. During this Nagai-Tof War, Leia Organa visited the planet.

Verkuyl System (H-17)

· Star/Sun: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Verkuyl

o Dakuyl

A couple generations before Imperial control of the galaxy, businessman – and founder of Verkuylian BactaCo – Corlin Quarle Deld bought the rights to the planet and set up his business on the planet. Experts in the production of bacta, Deld forced his employees into decades long contracts that effectively turned them into indentured servants. When the Empire became the galactic dominate government, Verkuylian BactaCo was nationalized as an Imperial corporation, with the help of Deld’s grandson. When the New Republic came to power, the workers were freed from their contracts.

Nearby Dakuyl was also invested in the bacta industry. Containing a couple key products used in the creation of bacta, Dakuyl became a secondary source for bacta development. During the Clone Wars, the Trade Federation tried to manipulate the Dakuylian market on bacta to create a profitable shortage, but that ploy was thwarted by the Republic.
