Originally the homeworld of the cetacean Kallidahins, the whole species eventually migrated to Polis Massa for an archaeological expedition to determine their evolutionary connect to the extinct Eelayin species.

Orax was home to the crystalline Shard species, siding with the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War to fight off the Empire, who had murdered many Shards and turned the planet into a mining colony with slaves.
Polis Massa System (K-20)

At some point in the past, Polis Massa was a planet that housed the Eelayin species, until the planet experienced a cataclysm that shattered the planet and made the Eelayin extinct. Eventually the Kallidahins relocated to the planet to study the Eelayin, finding the remains of their ancient subterranean capitol, roughly five hundred years before the Galactic Civil War. The Kallidahins became close friends with the Republic and Jedi and aided Masters Yoda and Kenobi in fleeing Order 66 and trying to save Padme Amidala’s life following the birth of her twins.
