Touring the Galaxy: Freestanding Subsectors


Ankus System (I-7)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Ankus

Homeworld of the pachydermoid Cragmoloids species of humanoids, Ankus was a remote world only discovered by Republic scouts following the New Sith Wars, circa 1,000 BBY. Ankus remained neutral until the Galactic Civil War when Imperial forces invaded and enslaved the planet. The planet declared neutrality in 9 ABY following the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Eventually the world was reconquered by Darth Krayt’s Sith forces in 137 ABY.

 

Burska System (I-7)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Burska

A remote world of frozen tundra, Burska came under geological protection of the Galactic Republic during its waning years as a government, following a disastrous first contact with the planet’s harsh environment and wildlife. During the Galactic Civil War, the planet joined the New Republic.

 

Codia System (H-15)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   unnamed planet

§  Codian Moon

A sparcely populated moon located at the edge of the boundary with the Outer Rim, the Cordian Moon was minor agriworld with mossy grasslands, rolling plains, and swamplands. The moon also housed many ranches for raising animals, whether for food supplies or sport. During the Clone Wars, the Codian Moon remained neutral.

 

Etai System

·        Orbits:

o   Etai

Etai was a remote terrestrial world that had its coordinates kept secret. The planet was a crystal mining colony, its deep caverns produced a rare crystal used to power lightsabers.

 

Gwar System (H-15)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Gwar

Gwar was a remote world that housed an Imperial supply base during the Galactic Civil War.

 

Meria System (H-15)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Meria

Meria was a remote system that saw little galactic traffic.

 

Mhatma System (I-16)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   four unnamed planets (presumably Mhatma 1-4)

o   Mhatma 5

Mhatma 5 was a remote, cold world of vast tundra. During the Galactic Civil War, the planet was used as a large preserve for animals native to arctic environments.

 

Nopsin System (I-15)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Nopsin

A colony world of the near-human Tren species, Nopsin was a remote world that found itself torn between allegiance to the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. Being more militaristic, the Tren eventually allied with the Empire; however, a strong Rebel resistance remained on the planet.

 

Opitha Tren System (J-15)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Opitha Tren

Home of the near-human Tren species, little is known about Opitha Tren. Despite allying with the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War, the Tren were able to negotiate a non-aggression treaty that gave them vast autonomy to advance their civilization.

 

Sarkhai System

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Sarkhai

A remote world of dense forests, Sarkhai was ruled by a monarchy that managed to keep their location within the Freestanding Subsectors secret, despite holding senate membership in the Galactic Republic. Around 3,643 BBY, the planet temporarily aligned with the Rift Alliance, a confederation of disgruntled Republic worlds threatening to secede; however, Sarkhai never held any desire to depart from the Republic, merely curious about the faction.

 

Sebaddon System (Q-11)

·        Sun/Star: Sebaddon black hole

·        Orbits:

o   Sebaddon

§  one unnamed moon/satellites

Locataed above the galactic plane, Sebaddon was a remote volcanic world slowly being torn apart from the tectonic activity caused by the nearby black hole. During the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and “True” Sith Empire, the planet became a focal point of conflict when it was discovered an automated droid army was able to self-replicate and possibly conquer the galaxy. Sith and Republic forces teamed up and were able to halt the droids from breaking into the rest of the galaxy, pushing the planet’s orbit to spiral into the black hole in the process.

 

Theal System (J-15)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Theal

Originally an old Republic colony world, Theal was rediscovered by Republic scouts circa 167 BBY.

 

Qaras System (I-16)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Qaras

A remote planet, Qaras was the homeworld of the Minyavish and Jessar species. For thousands of years, the Minyavi ruled over the Jessar, enslaving most of their population. In 44 ABY, however, the Jessar were able to overthrow the Minyavi and force them offworld. Following their liberation, Qaras joined the Galactic Alliance.

 

Voniss System (I-7)

·        Sun/Star: unnamed

·        Orbits:

o   Voniss

Voniss was a remote, inhabited, arid planetoid that saw little galactic traffic.
