Touring the Galaxy: Kathol Outback

Binaros System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Binaros

A relatively young planet in the galaxy, Binaros is primarily an aquatic world with archipelagos littered about the planet’s equator. Almost three hundred years before the Battle of Yavin, Binaros was settled by a group of cultists, who eeked out a living on the humid world, until the Empire assumed control and made Sarne sector governor.

Bresan System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Bresan

One of three planets part in the Pimbrellan League, Bresan’s atmosphere was incapable of sustaining life. As a result, its human population built domed cities underground, relying on ore trade to maintain their infrastructure.

Dolstan System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Dolstan

Another planet in the Pimbrellan League, Dolstan was a world of deserts, savannas, and large salt lakes. Its land was fertile, allowing it to provide most food for the rest of the League.

Ehjenla System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Ehjenla

Homeworld of the tribal Tuhgri sentient species, Ehjenla was exiting its ice age during the waning years of the Republic, carving large oceans and fjords across the face of the planet. Ehjenla remained part of the Kathol Republic, despite pressure from the Galactic Republic, Empire, and New Republic to join their ranks.

Episol System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o three unnamed planets

o Nepe

§ Dayark

Episol had four planets, two of which are radiated beyond habitability, the third a barren world excavated by mining operations, and the last, Nepe, a gas giant. Nepe’s moon, Dayark, had a temperate atmosphere and was the capital of the Kathol Republic. One side of the moon always faced Nepe so only the sunward side was inhabited.

Exocron System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Exocron

The standard temperate world, Exocron was settled in the waning days of the Republic by humans wanted to flee the materialistic whims of galactic society. They set up a technocracy, run by the Devisors. Exocron retained its neutrality through the Galactic Civil War and was the retirement residence of legendary smuggler Jorj Car’das.

Galtea Binary System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: both unnamed

· Orbits: none

This unstable, highly radioactive binary system was discovered by New Republic forces in 8 ABY.

Jangelle System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Jangelle

The standard temperate world, Jangelle was populated with residents of the Kathol Sector fleeing Imperial rule. Though not an official member, Jangelle did have a defense pact with the Kathol Republic to counter Imperial aggression. The planet was low tech, but largely self-sustaining.

Nah’Malis System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Danoor

o Duhrib Belt (asteroid belt)

Also known as the Danoor System, the planet was colonized by scientists and colonists in 92 BBY as a science research project to study the Kathol Rift, and for those who wanted to escape the bureaucracy of the Republic. Five decades later, the planet was devastated from an asteroid from the Duhrib Belt impacting the planet, killing half a million people. The citizens of Danoor were able to recover and were visited by New Republic forces in 8 ABY.

Qu’mock System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o one unnamed planet

§ Qektoth Confederation Space Station

Nothing is known about the planet in the system. The space station was originally built about a hundred years before the Battle of Yavin and orbited Gandle Ott. However, crime lords and their criminal minions were able to steal the station and reposition it in the Qu’mock System. Thirty-four years later, an earthquake devastated the planet, killing everyone, and the space station sat dormant until members of the Qektoth Confederation repurposed it.

Pitann System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Pitann

Pitann was a desert world with a searing hot climate and high gravitational pull. The planet was rich in ores and minerals and the vast fields of refineries made the atmosphere polluted. Pitann was a member of the Galactic Republic until it was replaced with the Empire, at which point it joined the Kathol Republic.

Sapella System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Sapella

Sapella was a remote planet slowly recovering from an ice age come 8 ABY. Most of the planet was still covered by glaciers, restricting colonists to settling along the planet’s equator, focusing on agriculture and livestock.

Shatuun System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Shatuun

Shatuun was a terrestrial world with towering mountain ranges and fierce electrical storms, making it unattractive for settlers or travelers. Archeological excavations provided clues that the planet was inhabited tens of thousands of years before the Battle of Yavin by a species who eventually destroyed by the ancient Celestials.

Swedlan System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Swedlan

The third planet of the Pimbrellan League, Swedlan’s atmosphere was not conducive to support life. As a result, settlers created domed cities in underground caves.

Timbra Ott System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

· Orbits:

o Timbra Ott

Originally a sister colony to Gandle Ott, Timbra Ott suffered irreparable damage after an earthquake ripped apart the mantle, causing massive tidal waves that destroyed most coastal settlements. The Galactic Republic transformed the planet into a penal colony to use inmate labor to rebuild the settlements there. It was almost a success until the Empire assumed galactic power and the inmates were abandoned to their own devices. Eventually the criminals organized into a government, though it was notorious its shady connections.

Uukaablis System (M-21)

· Sun/Star: unnamed

When it was discovered it was a rogue faction, the Uukaablians devoted themselves to the medical field, becoming experts.
