Escarte was a massive, rocky asteroid, possibly a former moon of one of the two gas giants it orbited between. Used as a mining colony by the Galactic Republic, Escarte came under Separatist control during the Clone Wars.

Home of the insectoid Veubgri species, Gbu shifted allegiance throughout galactic history. First discovered and occupied by Xim’s empire, Gbu came under jurisdiction of the Keldrath Alignment, which emerged from the dust of Xim’s defeat. Eventually the regional state remerged with the Tion Cluster when it joined the Galactic Empire. Gbu remained a Republic world until the Clone Wars when it sided with the Separatists. During the Galactic Civil War, the planet came under Imperial rule, its population used as slaves, until it joined the New Republic.
