Originally the home planet of the Qella species, the planet was abandoned by 145 BBY when it was determined the moons would collide due to irregular orbits. In 140 BBY, the moons had collided, and the debris rained onto the planet, sending it into an ice age that turnied the planet into an arctic landscape. When the planet was rediscovered by the Galactic Empire, it was renamed Maltha Obex.
