Altyr V remained a New Republic world throughout the Yuuzhan Vong invasion but seceded from the restructured Galactic Alliance and joined the Corellian Confederation during the Second Galactic Civil War.

Pirates briefly held the planet until it was conquered by Imperial forces during the Galactic Civil War. The Yuuzhan Vong briefly held Edusa during their galactic invasion, until it was returned to the Imperial Remnant in 27 ABY.

During the Galactic Civil War, the planet was an Imperial stronghold and intelligence center for the region, the native Tangrene having been eradicated following their enslavement. During their invasion of the galaxy, the Yuuzhan Vong managed to occupy the planet by 27 ABY.
