Ansion, however, was a temperate world of grasslands, rolling hills, oceans, and forested mountain ranges and mesas, and was the homeworld of the humanoid Ansionian species.

Discovered after 3,000 BBY by scouts, the planet joined the Galactic Republic shortly thereafter, remaining a loyal Republic world through the Clone Wars. During the Galactic Civil War, Ansion came under Imperial jurisdiction until the planet joined the Rebel Alliance following a failed Imperial attack to weed out Rebel sympathizers.

Ansion was later reclaimed by Imperial forces, holding the planet until it was conquered by the Yuuzhan Vong during their invasion of the galaxy. Years later, Ansion was liberated by Imperial forces and the planet remained an Imperial Remnant world throughout the subsequent galactic wars.
